At-Home Adventures
Most of us have found ourselves with a little extra time on our hands these days. Youβre probably not surprised to hear that your dogs are going just as stir crazy as you. Evenings that were once filled with trips to the dog park and weekends that were packed with hiking, camping, and meeting up with friends at the new brewery in town have now turned into figuring out how to make the most of your time around the house.
While we know these ideas might not compare to your dream trip to the Grand Canyon, we do hope they help fend off cabin fever. Give them a try, and let us know what you think! What ideas are we missing? Let us know, and weβll add them to our list.
Scavenger Hunt
Hide your dogβs favorite toys around your living room and have them find them. When they find a toy, be sure to give them a treat to reinforce the behavior and keep the game going!
Puzzle Toys
Puzzle toys will keep your curious pups stimulated while giving you a few moments to catch up on chores around the house or finally call into a business meeting, uninterrupted.
Cat-like Mindset
Most cats spend their days lying around the house and finding ways to keep their curious minds occupied. Take a lesson from your cat. Maybe it is time to let yourself rest or take time to try something new. Pick up that book thatβs collecting dust or try a new hobby. You never know what you might learn about yourself!
Plan the Trip
You know the one, the trip that has stayed on your bucket list year after year. The place that your mind drifts to when youβre daydreaming, the trip that youβve been quietly saving a few extra dollars here and there for when the time is right. Donβt wait any longer! Pull out those guide books, and get to work! Be sure to check out this helpful resource that shares National Parks that are dog-friendly.
Ice Treat
One of our favorite ways to keep our dogs entertained inside is to make a big batch of ice cube treats on Sunday night and share them throughout the week, just when you start to feel the crazy kick in. Hereβs how:
Fill a pitcher full of diluted chicken broth
Pull some plastic containers out of your recycling (be sure to wash them first!)
Drop a jerky bite into each container
Fill each container with chicken broth water
Freeze overnight
Yum!
